I am an internationally published photographer and videographer based in Christchurch New Zealand. I am also experienced photographic educator, having taught at tertiary level for ‘The Design and Art College’ (Christchurch). I regularly lectures in tertiary institutions and secondary schools.

My work is generally in two categories of photography, documentary and commercial. These two type of photography are almost opposing in their character. One is completely directed while the other is all about observation.

I had the good luck of photographing a variety of documentary assignments. Seeing and photographing places I had never thought I will visit. These assignments exposed me to cultures and landscapes ranging from low lying Pacific atolls to mountain monasteries in Asia. The images from these assignments have been widely published in magazines world wide.

I really enjoyed taking part in raising awareness of global warming in the Pacific region for the International Federation of the Red Cross/ Crescent. As well as photographing Asian UNESCO heritage sites for ‘Our Place World Heritage’ Publishing. This project covered a territory that stretched from Israel and Turkey in the west to Japan in the east.
But most rewarding so far was an Himalayan expedition for Sony Asia Pacific.

My commercial and advertising photography is as diverse as my documentary work. I enjoyed food photography ( a personal passion ) and classic automotive photography ( ditto ). I also have a reputation for edgy and creative work in both architectural and fashion photography. My New Zealand based clients range from small fashion houses to large national and international manufacturers.
I also contributed photographic portfolios for the launch of a range of Panasonic cameras.
